I can’t believe it’s going to be 3 years this month since Who I Am: Poetry gave my career the jumpstart it needed. I put some thought into this post as I reflect on what this represents for me as I’m turning 26 this year. I went from a person left to feel worthless to trending across social media, published by magazines, gaining thousands of social media followers which has allowed me to do other projects and continues to open doors for me. I went from a brown hair guy with acne on my face to a blonde doing photo shoots and blogging about my life.
I don’t know about you, but literally my mind is always all over the place. One second I’m on top of the world, then I enter a state of panic and it feels like everything around is ending. It’s so dramatic I can’t even deal sometimes. It leaves me mentally exhausted. Organizing stuff I simply don’t find it fun and honestly I dread the task, so I would push it aside—a big no-no if you crave a peaceful mind and need to get stuff done. Trial and error played a huge factor in finding the right formula for myself and I’m going to share 7 of my own fabulous secret tips that help me keep my life in order…most of the time.
As my boyfriend always says, If I am going to do something it has to be on my terms only or I won't do it. With these tips and tricks I was able to get organized on my terms!
From being publicly body shamed and gay bashed on social media. Receiving unsettling career news and unexpected family health scares. Celebrating 4 years with the man of my dreams, revealing my transformation, breaking new barriers in my career and the official launch of my lifestyle blog. This year seriously flew by, who’s with me when I say that? Today I caught a breath and looked back. It was wild…check out my 2017 summary and the lessons I was able to learn as my blonde ambition took off like never before.
I still slay while the weight of my world is on my shoulders
This October I launched my rebranded lifestyle blog but tried to post randomly before. Today I'm gathering the top 4 posts released this year. Check out the links below!
This is the first full-length piece of poetry I've written in such a longtime and I'm very excited to share it with you all. Inspired from a transformation I've undergone emotionally, physically and spiritually, but with my creative twist of course. It's my favorite poem I've ever written and most empowering. In my opinion it's my best as well! I hope the wait was worth it, because I know some of you have been itching for a new one. I now present you with 'Queen.' Enjoy!
Finally realize nothing can stop me...I’m a Queen.- Paul Travis
Once upon a time in the year of 2013 I was a hot mess when it came to dating. I cringe thinking of how I acted during that entire year. I went from being a strong independent person who didn’t need no man to a crying over guys left and right. I definitely hadn’t a clue on how to truly date or how “boys” really were, but let me tell ya…I learned quick. During a chilly October night I encountered the worst of them all.
But the night had become so awful my eyes shifted to the ceiling. I thought, “God, you had your chances I’m becoming a ho.” It was during those moments when my phone lit and my now boyfriend of 4 years finally texted, “Do you wanna hangout tonight?” It only took him, what? Two years to ask! - Paul Travis Between the ages of 2 to 5, I knew I wanted to be some sort of an entertainer. My youthful imagination was opened by three Females-Marilyn Monroe, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Britney Spears. My dream was all I could think about. Their world had an undeniable glamour that captured me from my earliest of memories and coming from a family of I’d guess you can say Rednecks I was a different kind of Travis. One that would add a whole new kind of sass to my family tree. In this post I’m giving those of you who read a tiny piece of my history and in honor of Pride Month a look into when I knew something about my feelings were colorful. Don’t allow what others have to say influence how you view yourself or how you view people. Have an open mind when it comes to learning about others. The experience can be once in a lifetime. Keep your pride humble because everyone should have a sense of pride in themselves. - Paul Travis
The Art Of Balance: Welcome To My World is taking you into my dressing room and giving a private tour into how I make my busy schedule work, also at the end I give you tips I learned along the way to help you balance out everything you need. I'm giving an exclusive look at what exactly I do and the philosophy of my many visions.
If life taught me anything it's to live in the moment because once it's gone you can't relive it. Life as a perfectionist is one of the toughest obstacles one can deal with. Perfection is something unattainable, yet many of us hope to have one day. It's a battle with a monster inside you wish could vanish, but comes back in the darkest of nights. Maybe not everyone has this struggle. I do, especially with myself. The road gets very lonely and is why I complied a list of thoughts that cross my mind during these moments. This is the first post for my new blog series, "My Confessions." Perfection is something unattainable, yet many of us hope to have one day. It's a battle with a monster inside you wish could vanish, but comes back in the darkest of nights - Paul Travis
I had time to reflect on issues pertaining in my family and felt it would be good share with all my readers. I touch more in depth on family drama in my memoir, which is no where near ready for the public to see yet.
As I sat in front of my vanity to get inspiration a question popped into my mind, Why does every family fight? |
