I'm sure by now you've all said the words, "Thank you," at least more than twice in your life, but did you ever think of how powerful they are?
Not even joking science has proven it
I started practicing gratitude every single day about 5 years ago when I hit one of my deepest low points in life. Have you heard of the book called The Secret? It's my bible. That is how much it means to me and I firmly believe it can help you all as well-even Oprah Winfrey adores this book and lives by its ways! Must I say anymore?
If you haven't I provided easy links for you to buy it either in hardcopy or kindle because I HIGHLY recommend it, plus Amazon sells it cheaper. Who doesn't love a great deal!
I have the entire series and I don't go a day without reading it-also have the apps, plus audio books.
That is my primary focus on this blog post. I am going to share 10 ways I use The Secret in my everyday life which has made my hopes real, and it keeps giving me the life I've always dreamed of- from love, to my career and everything in-between. I also include the rest of the books and a brief summary of them.
When I was first told about this book from a very dear friend I bought it the second after because my soul knew this is what I needed. It enlightened me on my faith. It showed me why I felt so lost and misunderstood my whole life. My dreams became reachable after learning the truth that was hidden from us! Wait till you read it, you're going to be blown away!
If you're not much of a reader guess what? There's a movie as well, which I watched! I read the book first, though.
It's about building a foundation around you and your life. Each book in the series adds more value than the last! Each time you re-read the book you learn something you didn't before. Some of the books in the series will standout to you more. My personal favorite is a 28 day workbook from the series called The Magic, it serves as the third book. I read the first skipped the second and jumped in on the third.
This book in the series changed my life and put me on the right track. It helped me understand where I lacked in my life, all I had to be grateful for, put things into perspective and transformed everything I felt in love to come alive. Following the steps and daily activities really helped because of the writing it all out. I feel most when I write. I am a hands on learner kind of guy.
The Power, which is the second book in The Secret series. It gives more depth into unlocking your full potential. I learned a ton of valuable information by reading this.
The Hero, shares true stories of people in the public eye who have used this way of thought in the industry and they open up about their journeys, but the author mainly focuses on giving insight into helping you map out and conquer your dreams as it builds from the lessons you were you taught from the previous books.
The newest book in the series that came out in October 2016, How The Secret Changed My Life, shares stories of people like us and how it really changed their lives. I finished this book in less than 4 days. It was a beautiful book filled with the most inspiring stories that will bring tears to your eyes along with new insight on how to apply The Law Of Attraction into your life.
I use The Secret in my everyday life as I shared before, here is another book that I use from the series but it has a different context filled with great positive affrimations. This one is a Daily Teachings book and you need to read a tiny passage everyday for 1 year. I re-read it. I'm on my second time around with it. It's a great addition to helping you maintain a positive and happy life.
How I Use The Secret In My Everyday Life
1.Daily Gratitude Journal (I use teachings learned from The Magic)
The first thing I do every morning to start my day is get my daily gratitude journal and use the teachings I learned in The Magic when writing out ten things a day I'm grateful for. The Magic teachings really show you HOW to keep a real gratitude journal. You read everywhere to write things you're grateful for, but there is much more depth involved to make you feel it. You can use any notebook, but I love using the book below.
2.The Secret To Money App
After I finish my journal I head over to one of The Secrets apps that gives you a primary focus on helping you build a positive mindset on money.
3. Use The Daily Teachings App
Yes, along with the Daily Teachings book there's an app you can use as well. After I do the journal, then The Secret To Money App I go to the daily teaches app.
4. Read The Daily Teachings Book
In this book you get what each day of the week means along with a new affirmation. I read both, and sometimes go back to the ones I have bookmarked with a sticky note. Every Sunday I write out a note to God highlighting all the great things that happened to me the previous week and thank him for another beautiful and successful week filled with a ton of love.
5. Write A List For All The Great Things That Happened To Me The Day Before
At the top of the page in a different notebook I set aside for my gratitude I write: What Are All The Good Things That Happened To Me Yesterday? My mind then receives a quick list of all the beautiful things that occurred, even if the day wasn't the best my mind still finds something to write and be thankful for.
6. Write Out My To Do List As If I Already Completed It
I have so much to do everyday that a to do list is a must, but this list is much more different than the one I have on my desk, or cell phone. I give thanks as if I already completed the task with the outcome I desire.
7. Read The List With My Desires On It
This is something learned from The Magic as a lot of these tasks are that I do. During the 28 days you are giving a day to write out your list and the author explains how to use it. I do this everyday and when one desire comes true I add another feeling so grateful for having been able to receive what I asked for.
8. Take Out My Reminders That I Kept From Doing The Magic
There are few days that I have bookmarked with sticky notes along with the task that had to be done that day. Such as being grateful for all the money I have received. I take a look at the dollar with my written words on it and say to myself: Thank you for all the money I have received throughout my life. My Magic To Do List: This list has more bigger stuff on it than everyday tasks and I give thanks for them having been completed. Magnificent Outcome List: If I have a huge desire that I have asked for this exercise keeps my mindset knowing I have received the magnificent outcome and if any unexpected things happen during my day I mentally say, Thank you for the magnificent outcome to (whatever it maybe).
9. Hold The Magic Rock In My Hand Before Bed And Find The Best Thing That Happened To Me That Day
I found a rock on the beach and I use it before I go to bed. I ask myself what was the best thing that happened to me that day and without fail I go down a list mentally coming out with the best one. I go to bed happy and start my day happy with my gratitude journal.
10. Never Miss A Day In The List Above
Nothing will stand in the way of me and my gratitude hour. It does take an hour each day and may I add the best hour every single day. I wake up excited. I do not and I repeat do not do anything first without doing all these steps so I can ensure my mind is ready to conquer the day ahead.
I know everyone has different situations. So, you have to find what works best for you. Without a doubt though if you use The Secret this way your life will turn into magic. If there are days when you feel down, this will be a light at the end in the tunnel, be the goodness you feed your soul and the reminder that you are destined for greatness! If you are happy it will just keep increasing happiness. Basically, it will be the best thing you do for yourself and life, trust me. I've been to the darkest depths of life and now I walk in the happiest, but not everyday is perfect, at least I have my way to overcome those bad days.
