Life is meant to be taken in baby steps. Simply because you get more out of it. Society today is fast moving and the pressure to keep up is in high demand. Not everyone can do that, and that's okay. People work differently. It's what makes the world go round. With that being said I wanted to share 10 simple steps I took and am taking to keep my happiness alive in 2017.
Sometimes you need to take a break from everyone and spend time alone, to experience, appreciate and love yourself - Robert Tew
We all get caught up in our "we gotta have it now" mindset. The truth is everything takes progress and time yet the burden of not having it can make you be super hard on yourself. Raise your hand if you've be there-raises hand-but in 2017 I am really focusing on myself and my energy with taking these 10 steps:
1. Social Media Detox
Stray away from social media to clear your mind.
Make a habit to mediate a couple times a week so you can balance your mind, body & soul.
3. Read More
Either it be a self-help book or a work of fiction spend less time staring at screens.
4. Be Present
Whatever the task at hand is give it your best and fullest attention.
5. Truly Take Life One Day At A Time
Rush no more but embrace what is.
Accept yourself for not only your positives, but flaws and all. Don't wish change, just let it be.
7. Do Nothing
Let freedom ring. Have no agenda and flow like a river.
8. Be Good To Yourself
Enjoy what you can and enjoy who you are.
9. Stop Comparing
Allow yourself to progress naturally.
10. Gratitude Journal
Express your truest, deepest feelings and allow yourself to blossom like a flower.
Taking steps to maintaining a happy mind is a gift we all have, but a struggle for each. Practice makes perfect and I hope this year you continue on making yourself happy no matter what struggles we endure. Life is a balance of good and bad, but being mindful is the key to opening the doors one may need. In the end of every story each of us deserves a happily ever after.
