Each New Year the social media world shares how it’s going to be the best yet but sometimes (most times) things happen in which we can not control—and suddenly that motivation dies. Darkness creeps in and we feel defeated, or you might feel like that now. Either way don’t fret yourself we’ve all been there before, it’s part of this wild journey called life. From years of studying psychology, the social scene and dedicating my work to helping others I learned 11 growth hacks through my own journey and speaking to a variety of people that can help you achieve a happier life.
Your greatest tool in navigating life besides the heart and body is the mind—it can be your best friend, or your biggest enemy. For a longtime mine was an enemy hence why I found my peace in writing, but thanks to my determination I was able to kick it in the ass when it decided to act up. I’ve suffered from terrible anxiety basically my whole life and occasional depression, but this past year I was able to remove anti-depressants from my life, come out of my comfort zone and be very content with everything. I can truthfully say I gained control over most of what I can. The Queen within took even more control this year like never before, because I was always a Queen hunny just needed to readjust my crown. Okay—okay, let’s get down to business. Here are 11 simple growth hacks to help you achieve happiness in the coming year, or just in general:
1. Become More Aware
Take time to understand your surroundings, people around you and even yourself. Heightened awareness means you’ve opened your senses to a better understanding of the world that you live, which will make you feel more connected.
2. Focus On Vibes
Vibes are very important and energy that you feel others are giving off, take it as it is. If it feels negative remove them in a nice way. If it feels positive embrace them. In the end don’t let others control the way you feel because the most important vibe is the one you’re giving off.
3. Watch How You Speak
Your dialogue is very important. Choose your words wisely.
4. Treat Others And Yourself With Pure Kindness
Don’t be an uncool meanie—come with pure intentions and an open heart.
5. Don’t Fear Vulnerability
Try new things, even if it is just randomly. Live in the now and embrace the moment as is.
6. Be Patient With Yourself And Life
Don’t rush the process. Let it be.
7. Forgive So You Can Move Forward
Letting go of things weighing down your life will benefit you because you open up space for brand new GOOD things. Out with the old, in with the new.
8. Open Up More About Your Dreams And Blessings, Not Misfortunes
Let others in on your wildest dreams and what makes you happy
9. Toughen Up And Take What’s Yours
Don’t fear success. Don’t feel like you don’t deserve great things. Stand up and take what you’ve worked so hard for.
10. Just Be Honest With Yourself
Take a breath and reflect.
11. Show The World That Fierce And Fabulous You You’ve Kept Hidden
Shine like you’ve never shined before—with no apologizes made.
