Interview Part 2:

12/8/2014

My biggest tip is to be grateful every step of the way. Enjoy every second- Paul

Below is part two of the interview done by my friend! Enjoy!

In part one you saw a brief introduction to Paul, and to why he started writing. In part two we will  uncover his personal advice for inspiring writers, or writers.

1.  When it comes to writing, any tips on what to do, and what not to do?
  • My biggest tip is to be grateful every step of the way. Enjoy every second. A tip on what not to do, don’t do anything at all. Find something to do. Also, don’t listen to what anyone has to say about your career, stick to your true self.

2.  Do you ever get writers block? If so, how do you overcome it?
  • Oddly enough I don’t. (Just ask my editor) Yes, there are days when I don’t write because I am not feeling it, but during that time I'm visualizing pieces I am crafting. Like I said in the last question for a tip on what not to do, “don’t do anything at all," because in reality there is always something to do as a writer…either research, connect on social media, look at old pieces of your own work, try to find personal growth, and the list goes on. Writers block is a time for you to reflect upon your current status, but also gives you a time to do other things as well. In other words, it is a no.

3.  For any who do experience the dreaded writers block, do you have any tips?
  • Yes, of course. Step outside of yourself. Expand your mind, heart and soul. Or in reserve look within yourself, discover something new.

4.  Which writers inspire you?
  •  J.K Rowling. Love her.

5. What are all your current projects?
  • Well, are you ready for this? My first novel is with my personal editor. As you may of read in my bio I finished that this year. For the follow up to it, I am six chapters deep, with the final chapter written (which is epic!!) I have parts in between; now is the time to start bringing the story together. I have the next installment to Lost Hills waiting to be sent for an edit, as well as the next line of poems I will be releasing. Yeah, it's been a pretty busy few years, weeks, days, and even seconds! I am grateful I am supplied with so much inspiration.

6. Where do you get inspiration?
  • My emotions, which stem from my life. I only write what I know, but I am always learning something new. It works hand, and hand to always having something to write about!

-Part 3 will be released next week-
