As one more chapter is coming to a close tonight I hope you all are happy with what this year has brought you. If not, know you are loved. It will light the way. I wish nothing but blessings, joy, and of course love for you in the next. Ending chapter 22 with a bang, and looking forward to 23! Happy New Year!

Be naive...but smart

  1. Getting into the topic of your career as a whole. You started chasing what you wanted at five, that's outstanding! Any advice for people getting ready to chase, or already have been chasing?

  • Rejection is redirection. You will face let downs, but your ups will be worth it. Hold on to them because in the end they will be all you have. Learn who you are before someone tells you who. Don't make my mistake. Don't allow others even the ones you love to derail you. Be naive...but smart.

Who I Am: Poetry Update!

12/22/2014

I'm so proud of what I created!

What is a chapbook?
  • A book which was huge in the 16th century. It contains 20-30 poems. It is a small poetry release.

Publisher?
  • Since my team gave me the access, and full control of this project I am "technically" the publisher, but everything has to be upon approval. It is my gift to all my fabulous readers for giving me such a successful website launch four weeks ago!

Why the backstories, and audios?
  • I wanted to do something original, get personal with my audience, give the readers a project worth their while, so I tested the traditional routine of a chapbook, and it was sold!

About Who I Am: Poetry?
  • It is a Paul Travis project for sure! You have the sassy, wild side, yet moments of when you will witness the vulerability inside me, I take you back to times of my relationship with my boyfriend, and that is only the beginning. It was a surprise this was going to be released, so I am grateful I am able to do this! Details of the release will be coming soon, but feel free to watch the trailers, and check out some of the poems! Got back my big review, and it was fantastic! I was filled with so much joy! Can't wait to share this, and Love you guys! :)

It is now going into the forth week since my website launch, and being a man of many words no amount could describe how grateful I am for the support! By only the short number of weeks I've been launched, the amount of followers I gained between, twitter, tumblr, and tsu really show people are reading! Thank you all, new, old, and future, please know I am glad to have you guys apart of this with me.

To show my appreciation I have released my first ever holiday poem, "Kiss Me So," also I released four new poems for an early x-mas surprise! Interview Part 2:

12/8/2014

My biggest tip is to be grateful every step of the way. Enjoy every second- Paul

Below is part two of the interview done by my friend! Enjoy!

In part one you saw a brief introduction to Paul, and to why he started writing. In part two we will  uncover his personal advice for inspiring writers, or writers.

1.  When it comes to writing, any tips on what to do, and what not to do?
  • My biggest tip is to be grateful every step of the way. Enjoy every second. A tip on what not to do, don’t do anything at all. Find something to do. Also, don’t listen to what anyone has to say about your career, stick to your true self.

2.  Do you ever get writers block? If so, how do you overcome it?
  • Oddly enough I don’t. (Just ask my editor) Yes, there are days when I don’t write because I am not feeling it, but during that time I'm visualizing pieces I am crafting. Like I said in the last question for a tip on what not to do, “don’t do anything at all," because in reality there is always something to do as a writer…either research, connect on social media, look at old pieces of your own work, try to find personal growth, and the list goes on. Writers block is a time for you to reflect upon your current status, but also gives you a time to do other things as well. In other words, it is a no.

3.  For any who do experience the dreaded writers block, do you have any tips?
  • Yes, of course. Step outside of yourself. Expand your mind, heart and soul. Or in reserve look within yourself, discover something new.

4.  Which writers inspire you?
  •  J.K Rowling. Love her.

5. What are all your current projects?
  • Well, are you ready for this? My first novel is with my personal editor. As you may of read in my bio I finished that this year. For the follow up to it, I am six chapters deep, with the final chapter written (which is epic!!) I have parts in between; now is the time to start bringing the story together. I have the next installment to Lost Hills waiting to be sent for an edit, as well as the next line of poems I will be releasing. Yeah, it's been a pretty busy few years, weeks, days, and even seconds! I am grateful I am supplied with so much inspiration.

6. Where do you get inspiration?
  • My emotions, which stem from my life. I only write what I know, but I am always learning something new. It works hand, and hand to always having something to write about!

-Part 3 will be released next week-

You Deserve It! Go For It!

12/4/2014

You Deserve it! Go for it!

Many people don’t go for what they dream, why? I guess everyone has their different reasons. Life itself is unpredictable; you never know who you’re going to meet, see, need, be around, you never know the places you’ll go, live, shop, and get inspired by. Always go into what you want with a positive view. Never give up. Live in the now. Forget the past. Don’t hold back! You Deserve it! Go For it!

Love,
Paul

You Are True

12/3/2014

You Are True, a poem dear to my heart, just like the person it is about. - Paul

You Are True is a poem dear to my heart, just like the person it is about, my Boyfriend. He is my everything, and I am so glad to have him in my life. This piece takes you back when I allowed myself to fall in love. Even though I was in love, sometimes your heart won’t give in. (I wasn’t even aware of my struggle until I wrote this)

A lot of my newer work with poetry reflects a lot about my relationship with him. I can look back at who I was, who I am now and enjoy the good, the bad, because I have him now. That may sound cliché, but I didn’t know I was that alone. That I pushed so many people away. With him I found a best friend, that no friend can ever be, I found a partner who understands, and I discovered the other half of my soul. I know when he reads this he will most likely say, “Paul, chill.” Of course I will tell him, “No. I love expressing how much I love you.” Then he will give me a cute smirk, and I will tell him I love him like a billion times, while he stays quiet. Yea He and I are very two different people, but that is what makes us so perfect for each other. Besides the point, You Are True will be released this Friday!

Interview Part 1:

12/1/2014

Life is your journey, make it an adventure! - Paul

Below is an interview done by my friend. I appreciate her curiosity in what I am doing, and wanted to share this with you all! Enjoy!

Welcome all.

Today I'm very lucky to be interviewing, Paul Travis. Thank you for agreeing to do this interview. Tell us a little bit about why you are so driven to do this as a career?
  1. No, thank you for being curious in my passion. I feel honored to be sharing this experience with you, but I always had my sights set on the show business platform. I love the arts, admire the people within that profession, what they do for the public and have since I can remember. It's something you just can't take away from me, so many people tried, and not one succeeded because it's who I am.

You've acted, recorded music, write and your list goes on, what made you choose writing over all of the others?
  1. It chose me. God has a funny way of showing people what they are meant to do. When I left the music & acting behind to focus solely on my writing so much joy came into my life. I fell in love, found amazing people to work with, got back my own happiness, learned so much about life and most importantly I found my truth.

Do you ever see yourself getting back into those other professions that you did previsously?
  1. I am an unpredictable force. Nothing is taken off the table, so perhaps.

Did you evolve creatively since you began?
  1. That is one the greatest parts within this journey, you always grow every single day! Life is your journey, make it an adventure by allowing yourself growth!

The launch to PaulTravis.Net was a success, how does that make you feel?
  1. Words can't even describe the joy felt. I am truly so grateful to all participating, and taken part of this journey with me.

How were you like in school?
  1. I was a bit socially awkward, which may come to a shocker for some reading this. I kept to myself. I usually was writing, or learning lines for a script I was reviewing for a show I had coming up that summer. I slacked with my studies because of all the stuff I had going on outside of school, but thank god I pulled it off somehow. To be honest, I am beyond grateful those days are behind me. They were torture.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
  1. I would tell him to not cry so much, and the darkness felt in his heart won't last forever.

Which famous person, living or dead would you like to meet and why?
  1. Marilyn Monroe. For as long as I can remember I always had some type of connection to her, and I would like to know what it is.
